Chapter summary

The three pilgrimage feasts and the charge to judges. Passover at the place the LORD shall choose — no leaven seen within all thy coast seven days. Weeks — seven weeks from the sickle put to the standing corn; rejoicing before the LORD with household, Levite, stranger, fatherless, widow. Tabernacles — seven days from the ingathering. Three times a year all males shall appear before the LORD; none shall appear empty. ‘Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates … thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift … Justice, justice shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land’.
