Chapter summary

Ebal and Gerizim previewed. Remember the chastening, the wonders in Egypt, Pharaoh, the Red Sea, Dathan and Abiram. The land is not like Egypt — watered by foot with a shaduf — but a land of hills and valleys, drinking water of the rain of heaven. Early and latter rain given if you obey. ‘Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse’ — the blessing if you obey, the curse if you will not. When the LORD brings you in, put the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal. Love the LORD, walk in his ways, cleave unto him; and no man shall be able to stand before you.
