Christianity 101
You believed in Jesus — now what? Here is the whole faith in outline: ten basics, in plain words, each with the Scripture it stands on and a place to go deeper.

1.There is one God, and He is good
Christianity begins with a Person, not a philosophy. There is one God — the Maker of everything — and He is good, holy, and personal. He reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: one God in three Persons. Christians call this the Trinity. No one fully understands it; every Christian everywhere believes it, because it is how God has shown Himself.

2.Jesus is God the Son — crucified and risen
Jesus of Nazareth is not merely a great teacher. He is God the Son, who became a real human being, lived a sinless life, died on a Roman cross carrying our sins, and rose bodily from the grave. The resurrection is the hinge of everything: because He lives, His promises hold.
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
3.The Bible is God's Word
The Bible is one library of 66 books — written across fifteen centuries by about forty authors, telling one story. Christians trust it as God’s own Word: true, sufficient, and worth your whole life’s study. Start in the Gospel of John, then Mark; add a Psalm a day. Don’t worry about what you don’t understand yet — obey the parts you do.

4.You are saved by grace, through faith
You did not earn your salvation, and you cannot lose track of this: you don’t keep it by performing either. God saved you by grace — His undeserved kindness — through faith in Jesus. Good works matter, but they are the fruit of salvation, never the root. When you fail (you will), you confess, He forgives, and you keep walking.

5.Prayer is talking with your Father
Prayer is not a performance and needs no special words. It is a child talking to a Father: thank Him, ask Him, admit the truth, listen. Jesus gave a model — the Lord’s Prayer — that covers it all: God’s honor, His kingdom, daily needs, forgiveness, protection. Pray it slowly and mean it; then pray in your own words, every day.

6.The Holy Spirit lives in you
When you believed, God the Holy Spirit came to live in you. He is not a force; He is God, your Helper — He comforts, convicts, teaches, and gives power to live and to witness. The Christian life is not you trying harder; it is you cooperating with the Spirit who is already at work in you.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.””
7.You need the church, and it needs you
Christianity is a family religion — nobody walks alone. Find a local church where the Bible is taught and Jesus is loved, and plant yourself: show up, serve, let people know you. You have also joined a family across all centuries — a great cloud of witnesses who ran this race before you.
“Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
8.Baptism and the Lord's Supper
Jesus left His church two simple, physical acts. Baptism is your public start: going under the water and coming up again, picturing His death and resurrection — and yours. The Lord’s Supper (communion) is the ongoing family meal: bread and cup, remembering His body and blood until He comes. If you haven’t been baptized as a believer, talk to your church — it’s your next step.

9.Growing: the daily walk
Christians grow the way trees grow — slowly, with roots. The pattern is simple and old: the Word daily, prayer daily, fellowship weekly, and quick confession when you sin. Habits beat intentions. A chapter a day with a notebook will change your life in a year.

10.Tell the story — and expect Him back
The good news that found you is meant to travel. You don’t need a degree — you are a witness: tell people what Jesus did for you. And live looking forward: Jesus promised to return, visibly and in glory, to set everything right. Every generation of Christians has watched for Him. So do we.
