Chapter summary
Paul and Timothy salute the saints, bishops, and deacons at Philippi. Paul thanks God upon every remembrance of them — for their fellowship in the gospel from the first day. He is confident that he which hath begun a good work in them will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. His bonds in Christ are made manifest throughout the palace. To me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ. Henry reads the chapter as the apostle's partnership theology from prison.
Drafted from Matthew Henry, Calvin, Gill, Clarke, JFB, and Barnes.
