Chapter summary

Plagues five, six, seven: murrain on the cattle, boils on man and beast, hail. The cattle of the Egyptians die; not one of Israel's. The magicians cannot stand before Moses because of the boils. The hail is the worst since Egypt was a nation — fire mingled with the hail; smitten man and beast and every herb of the field. Those who feared the word of the LORD brought their servants and cattle into the houses; those who regarded not the word left them in the field. Pharaoh confesses ‘I have sinned this time’ but when the thunder stops he hardens himself again.
