Smyrna — the church that suffered without rebuke

Full Rev 2:8–11. City history: emperor cult center; Polycarp's martyrdom (c. AD 155). Commendation: works, tribulation, poverty ("but thou art rich"), enduring blasphemy. No rebuke — one of two letters without one. Promise: "crown of life… not be hurt of the second death." Persecution is honored, not corrected.
