Hebrew El Shaddai (אֵל שַׁדַּי). Traditional translation "Almighty"; modern Hebraists have proposed "mountain-God" (from shad = breast / mountain) or "destroyer" (from shadad). The traditional reading anchors the commentary tradition. NT echo: Rev 1:8 — "the Almighty" (Greek pantokratōr) carries the same theological weight in apostolic vocabulary.
