MANNAFEST

The Angel Who Prays to YHWH

Zechariah's counterweight — the clearest text where the angel is distinguished from God.

Primary passage:Zechariah 1:12

Zechariah 1:12: "Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem?" — the angel interceding with YHWH, not speaking as him. In Zechariah 3:1–5 the same figure presides as Joshua the high priest stands accused and is re-clothed. This page keeps these texts beside the identity texts on purpose: the catalog never overclaims, and any reading of the figure must carry the distinction data as fully as the identity data.
