Comfort in persecution
Rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels (ch. 1).
New Testament · Book 53 of 66
A short follow-up clarifying eschatology. The day of the Lord has not come; the man of lawlessness must first be revealed.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
A short, urgent follow-up. Ch. 2 stands at the centre — the day of the Lord cannot come until the apostasy and the man of sin are revealed.
Worthy of the kingdom; Christ revealed in flaming fire.
The mystery of iniquity; the restrainer; the brightness of his coming.
Paul's example; if any will not work; withdraw from the disorderly.
Let no man deceive you by any means (2:3).
Worthy of the kingdom; God will recompense; Christ revealed in flaming fire.
The falling away first; the man of sin revealed; the restrainer taken away; the coming of Christ.
Paul's own example; if any will not work, neither let him eat; withdraw from the disorderly.
